That depends on your particular needs which will be determined by your dental hygienist.  On average, patients with healthy gums would see a hygienist every 6 months.

How often should I see the dentist?

We recommend that you have your teeth checked by a dentist once a year.

What should I do if I break a tooth / loose a filling?

Phone the practice. If you are not having any pain make an appointment for as soon as we have one available. Try to chew on the opposite side when eating and ensure that food does not get trapped in the tooth. If you are having pains please let us know and we will see you as soon as possible.

What should I do if my crown / bridge / veneer comes off?

Phone the practice, if you have the crown / bridge / veneer and it is still intact then it is a relatively straightforward procedure to replace it. We will endeavor to see you as soon as possible. If the crown / bridge / veneer is damaged you may need to have a new one made.  Please remember to bring your lost crown/bridge/veneer with you.

What should I do if I have a pain/swelling?

Phone the practice, the problem should be examined ASAP, it is possible that you may have an infection and may need a prescription.

What if I have an after hours/weekend emergency?

If you are a patient of record, and you have a true dental emergency, please call the practice and your dentists number will be on the answer phone and you can contact him at home and he will advise of the best course of action.
